Report: Liverpool could sign 22-year-old player for £51m and then send him out on loan

Liverpool are expected to be active in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Reds are all set to welcome a new manager after Jurgen Klopp leaves the club. The German will be a big miss, but we’ve known for over three months now that he will be walking away.

Nothing’s confirmed yet, but it looks like Arne Slot will be the next Liverpool boss. Fabrizio Romano revealed this week that the deal has been completed between all parties.

It will be interesting to see what Slot will do once he takes charge of the Reds. He has already been advised to get rid of two Liverpool players.

We’re sure the Dutchman will want to make a few new signings too, and one player from the Bundesliga has been linked with a move to Anfield now.

Liverpool have a special summer transfer plan for Willian Pacho

Eintracht Frankfurt star Willian Pacho has been in the news a lot in recent months.

The talented 22-year-old defender has made a fantastic name for himself in the Bundesliga since joining Frankfurt from Royal Antwerp last summer.

Pacho has played 41 times in all competitions this season, and his performances have caught the eye of many big clubs here in England.

TBR Football exclusively revealed this week that scouts from Liverpool and Manchester United were present at the Allianz Arena last Saturday to watch Pacho live.

Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign the Ecuador international, while Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested too.

Now, BILD and Fussball Transfers share the latest on the situation.

It has been claimed by the latter that Frankfurt are open to selling Pacho and have even identified a replacement – Lilian Brassier of Stade Brest.

However, the Bundesliga club want £51 million to let him go.

Liverpool are interested in Pacho and BILD have claimed that the Reds could sign him this summer and then loan him back to Frankfurt for another year.

That could sweeten the deal for Die Adler this summer.

Willian Pacho’s stats this season explain why Liverpool want him

Liverpool are very likely to sign a new centre-back this summer.

Virgil van Dijk is not getting any younger and Joel Matip is all set to be released once his contract expires in July this year.

A central defender is a necessity, and Willian Pacho checks a lot of boxes. TeamTalk describe him as a ‘quick, strong and powerful’ defender and have compared his athleticism to that of Tottenham’s Cristian Romero.

In the Bundesliga this season, Pacho has played 30 games. He averages 83 touches per 90 minutes and has maintained a decent passing accuracy of over 85 per cent.

Defensively, the 22-year-old averages 1.4 interceptions, 1.9 tackles, 4.5 clearances and an excellent 6.8 ball recoveries per game (SofaScore).

Those are some really impressive numbers for a player of Pacho’s age, especially considering that this is his first-ever season in a top European league.

Pacho has the potential to become a real star, and that is probably why Liverpool want to sign him.
