Türkiye has declared that it will not transfer the S-400 air defense systems, purchased from Russia, to other countries, citing the Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler.
"We cannot export our S-400 system to any other country," the Minister of Defense said.
At the same time, Güler expressed hope that the Hava Soj project would soon be implemented to protect Türkiye's airspace. It involves the production of special purpose aircraft for electronic warfare.
"Hava Soj is crucial. Our efforts continue. Tusaş and Aselsan are working intensively. I hope our 4 aircraft will be ready," the minister said.
Backstory
In 2023, the United States offered Türkiye to transfer the S-400 air defense systems to Ukraine, which Ankara had previously purchased from Russia. It is known that the contract amounted to approximately $2.5 billion.
However, Türkiye rejected this idea. The then Minister of Defense accused Washington of allegedly interfering in Türkiye's internal affairs.
Later, there was information in the media that Türkiye deployed the S-400 on the border with Iraq.
