Sheffield Wednesday fans say the same thing as club makes season ticket announcement

Sheffield Wednesday have announced an extension of the current phase of season ticket sales ahead of the summer.

Sheffield Wednesday fans don’t yet know what division their team will be playing in next season, or even who their manager will be.

Danny Rohl‘s future remains very much up in the air ahead of the final day showdown vs Sunderland on Saturday, where the Owls need to take a point to confirm their safety.

Wednesday announced in January that season tickets for the 2024/25 season were on sale, with the cheapest non-concession adult season ticket priced at £460.

Since, the price has gone up to £535, though after May 8th it’ll cost £560.

Needless to say, Sheffield Wednesday fans have had plenty to say on the price of their club’s season tickets ahead of next season.

@tommyuto said: “£810 for an Adult on south. Acting like we’re in the champions league…”

And @forever_swfc simply said: “These prices are a joke.”

Meanwhile at Ipswich Town, they’ve sold out their initial season ticket cap of 21,000 already and have placed more on sale, with fans able to watch what could be Premier League football for £381 next season.

@majortarantino said of Wednesday’s recent season ticket announcement: “really hope at some point in the near future we get rid of all these phases and categories etc etc and also start charging sensible prices.”

@Swfc_Jack said: “20 years a ST holder and no longer for me. Disgusting prices.”

@hammo196159 said: “It’s clear the current phase as been extended because of poor uptake. Scrap the phases and price realistically and they will probably sell well.”

@rkhargreaves said: “These prices are insane, no one should ever buy at these, it’s just not worth it at all.”

And @WednesdayRetro added: “Turning genuine Supporters away. People won’t pay it. I won’t… Scandalous pricing from the owner. He just doesn’t get it. What planet is he on.”

Sheffield Wednesday travel to Sunderland on Saturday, and when their Championship fate is decided, the club might either see an uptake or a stall in season ticket sales.
