Spurs reportedly want £26m player likened to Joao Cancelo, but he's said to have 'shook hands' with Arsenal instead

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal will likely be busy in the summer transfer window as they look to get their respective teams to the next level.

Spurs will certainly be eager to improve on what they’ve got after a season that initially promised so much is now fizzling out.

Meanwhile, Arsenal remain in the picture for the Premier League title, having turned their form around since their loss to Aston Villa.

The Gunners certainly aren’t the finished product just yet, with several areas in the squad in need of strengthening, such as centre-forward.

This week, an interesting report has emerged regarding an exciting talent who Tottenham and Arsenal are both reportedly targeting for the summer.

The player in question is Fenerbahce defender Ferdi Kadioglu, who NTV Spor linked with Spurs in March.

The report claimed that Ange Postecoglou rates the 24-year-old highly and thinks he could provide competition for Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro.

What is the latest on Tottenham and Arsenal target Ferdi Kadioglu?

With regards to Arsenal, a story from Turkish journalist Yagız Sabuncuoglu claimed the Gunners were planning to submit a £26million bid for Kadioglu.

Now, another Turkish reporter has relayed information that suggests Arsenal could be closing in on him.

Devrim Zengi told Turkish news outlet Karar: “Ferdi Kadioglu is meeting with Arsenal, Ferdi shook hands.

“His father, Feyzullah Kadioglu, did not say ‘yes, he is going to Arsenal, we made an agreement with Arsenal’.

“But from the questions I asked and the answers I received, I understood that Ferdi Kadioglu agreed with the Premier League giant Arsenal.”

Both Tottenham and Arsenal have a good record of signing gems under the radar who have gone on to shine, so let’s see what happens in the coming months.
