MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace says her 'whole body went cold' when she heard this testimony

The 11th day of Donald Trump's criminal trial unfolded on Friday, and there was testimony that sent chills through MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace.

Speaking at the top of her show, she read through the court transcript in which former Trump aide Hope Hicks describes what they did to mitigate the damage of the "Access Hollywood" tape.

"In the end, what you have is another woman, a beautiful young woman, who doesn't walk away when she learns that the transcript that she sent to her colleagues to 'deny, deny, deny,' is completely true," Wallace said of the "Access Hollywood" tape. "The prosecutor says it's difficult to deny a tape when there's a full transcript."

Hicks said she spoke to the rest of the staff, which was gathered helping Trump with debate prep.

Hicks went on to confirm she read Trump the email and "had a vague recollection" of reading him the "Access Hollywood" transcript.

Trump told her: "It didn't sound like something he would say."

She confirmed she was with Trump when the video was shown.

She confessed she was "stunned. It was concerning. I had a good sense that this would be a massive story and make the news cycle for the next several days."

Hicks also said she was aware of the impact it would have on the campaign. Others also felt it was damaging and "a crisis." It was hours later, or perhaps even the following day, that she thought about how it would impact female voters specifically.

Prosecutors asked if the campaign thought about how it would respond.

"I know Trump thought it wasn't good, but it was just two guys talking," she said. "Locker room stuff."

Wallace said that she spoke to somebody named in the testimony, who was in debate prep when the information came out. "That is not how other people responded," said Wallace. "They were disgusted. They were horrified. Nobody thought it was locker room talk."

Dr. Basil Smikle, Ph.D., said it reminded him of FBI Director James Comey announcing the Hillary Clinton email probe and just how desperately Trump was trying to keep these scandals from being exposed.

Wallace brought up Hicks bursting into tears at the end of the prosecutors' questions.

"We don't know what made Hope Hicks cry in court today," said Wallace.

But it made her think of the movie "Primal Fear" and the end of the film where Edward Norton's character confesses to his lawyer, Richard Gere.

"He confesses, and he has tears," said Wallace about the film. To her it was similar to a moment in trial Friday in which the crime is revealed to Hicks.

"To me that line about 2018 — my whole body went cold," said Wallace. "Oh, my God. He confessed to her the whole thing was an election crime."
