Jeremy Doku sends two-word message to Erling Haaland after Man City's 5-1 win against Wolves

Jeremy Doku sent a two-word message to Erling Haaland after Manchester City thrashed Wolves 5-1 on Saturday.

Haaland put in one of his best-ever performances in a City shirt as he scored four goals for the first time in a single Premier League game.

Considering Wolves had beaten Manchester City 2-1 earlier this season, all eyes were on whether the hosts’ big names like the £51 million man could make the game a no-contest.

The Norwegian international has delivered in successive weeks for his side, scoring a crucial goal against Nottingham Forest and proceeding to add four more to his goal tally against Gary O’Neil’s side.

Erling Haaland has scored 25 Premier League goals this campaign.

Ahead of the contest, it seemed like there was a possibility that the 23-year-old could potentially lose the Golden Boot to other prolific goalscorers this campaign.

The likes of Alexander Isak (20 goals), Cole Palmer (20 goals) and Ollie Watkins (19 goals) could potentially have usurped the treble-winner.

However, Haaland has established a five-goal lead over Isak and Palmer and has six goals more than Watkins.

The Leeds-born striker could become the first City player to ever win back-to-back Golden Boot awards.

For context, even Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez won the award just once during their respective spells at the Etihad Stadium.

But more importantly, the Sky Blues are only one point behind Arsenal with a game in hand, after the Gunners beat AFC Bournemouth 3-0 on Saturday as well.

After the game, it was no surprise to see Haaland’s teammates sing his praises.

One of them was Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku, who hailed Erling Haaland after Manchester City annihilated Wolves.

“Big W [win]! One step closer… Come on City. @ErlingHaaland on fire”, Doku captioned his post-match post on X.

Jeremy Doku and Co. must be grateful to Erling Haaland

Jeremy Doku and the rest of his Manchester City teammates must be grateful to Erling Haaland for wearing his shooting boots against Wolves.

The true test of a potential title-winning team emerges when their big players step up in important games and Haaland did just that.

In hindsight, some might feel City’s dominant win against Wolves was a routine victory but that would be a case of downplaying the test at hand at the Etihad Stadium.

Gary O’Neil has coached a side that even showed their quality on a rough day at the office for them.

Erling Haaland was simply in immaculate touch against Wolves and now Jeremy Doku and the rest of his Manchester City teammates will be hoping to get the all-important three points against Fulham next.

On days when Haaland plays like he did against Wolves, it is tough for any defence to contend with him.
