Ian Wright raves over Arsenal 'difference-maker' after what he saw during Bournemouth win

Ian Wright has showered an Arsenal ‘difference-maker’ with praise after what the pundit saw against AFC Bournemouth yesterday.

The Gunners maintained their winning streak with a dominant 3-0 win at the Emirates Stadium against the Cherries, with Arsenal again reclaiming top spot in the Premier League as Manchester City also won on Saturday.

Whilst there was some controversy in the fixture regarding Kai Havertz and the penalty the German international won for Arsenal, it was a solid performance from the Gunners as Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola admitted that the north London side deserved the three points.

And Arsenal legend Wright was completely in awe of one player on the day.

Declan Rice showered with praise after Arsenal masterclass vs Bournemouth

Speaking on Match of the Day, Wright was full of praise for Declan Rice as the England international again put on a Man of the Match display for Arsenal, with the midfielder grabbing a goal and an assist against Bournemouth.

The summer signing has been a revelation at Arsenal this season, with Rice registering his best year yet in the Premier League in terms of goals and assists, and Wright was amazed by what he saw from the midfielder yesterday.

Wright said when asked about Rice’s performance for Arsenal: “He is the difference-maker for us in respect of being able to play in any of those positions in the midfield, if he’s in any situation, he can deal with it.

“He was all over the place and people talk about can he play in a possession-based midfield, yes he can. Will he score enough goals, we’re seeing that now, and playing alongside someone like Thomas Partey helps release him to get forward.”

Rice showed why he has been the signing of the season

Signed for £105m, it’s hard to imagine a player costing this much and somehow coming across as a bargain, yet Rice has done that and then some for Arsenal this season.

The midfielder has been nothing short of sensational for the Gunners under Mikel Arteta, and Rice again showed against Bournemouth why is the clear signing of the season in the Premier League.

A contender for player of the season, as well, Rice has been a revelation for Arsenal this year, and the midfielder’s performance against Bournemouth showed why the Gunners were so eager to sign the 25-year-old last summer.
