'I don't really care': £51m Man City star responds perfectly after Sky Sports pundit's ridiculous claim

Erling Haaland hit four goals for Manchester City in a 5-1 win over Wolves – and after the game, the striker issued a brilliant response to the recent comments made by Roy Keane.

The Norwegian sensation was in fine fettle on Saturday, as he took his tally to 36 goals across all competitions.

Haalandwho was hailed by winger Jeremy Doku on Instagram after the game – took a very big stride in the race for the Golden Boot, and is now up to 26 in the competition. He is now five clear of Cole Palmer and Alex Isak.

It was a ruthless display from Haaland, who appeared ominous after scoring against Nottingham Forest the weekend before. He seems especially hungry at the moment, with City going for two trophies.

Perhaps going out of the Champions League is serving as extra motivation for the 23-year-old. Whatever it is, it’s fantastic news for Pep Guardiola.

After yesterday’s game with Wolves, Haaland was actually asked about the controversial comments made by Roy Keane – and he gave a simply brilliant response…

Haaland is known for being a lethal goalscorer.

He has found the back of the net regularly since turning professional, and it’s very rare that he has droughts.

As a result of his goalcoring exploits, and the way in which he is used in City’s team, there has been criticism from some about the other side of his game.

Roy Keane recently said of Haaland: “The levels of his general play is so poor and not just today. I think his laying stuff off, headers, whatever it might be. In terms of in front of goal, he’s the best in the world.

But for his general play for such a player, it is so poor. Not just today, he has to improve that, he’s almost like a League Two player. That’s the way I look at him. His general play has to improve and it will do over the next few years. There’s been this brilliant striker, fantastic but he has to improve his all-round game, has to.”

After the game with Forest, Keane joked that Haaland had improved to ‘Championship’ level.

But after Saturday’s win over Wolves, Haaland was asked about Keane – and the star gave a blunt but brilliant response. He told Viaplay (as quoted by MEN): “I don’t really care that much about that man, so that’s all right.”

Well played, Erling

This was a fantastic response from Haaland to some frankly ridiculous comments from Keane.

Haaland is right not to concern himself with Keane, who obviously has a history with the striker’s father Alfie. The comments he made recently were purely to make headlines.

The £51 million ace is obviously a better ‘goalscorer’ than he is a ‘pure footballer’. But to claim his general play is that of a League Two player is just lazy and embarrassing.

Thankfully, and as expected, Haaland has not been affected at all by this verdict. In actual fact, he’s arguably made a mockery of it since Keane said it.
