Celtic fans are all saying the same thing about Callum McGregor and James Forrest after Hearts win

It’s at this stage of the season that Celtic will call upon their most experienced and best players to get them over the line in this title race.

We told this morning already how Matt O’Riley was simply brilliant with his part in Celtic’s win over Hearts when he put in another sterling performance for Brendan Rodgers yesterday.

In truth, every player that pulled on that jersey was excellent at Celtic Park and the fans can now look forward to a relaxing Sunday afternoon where they will be hoping for an Ibrox slip-up where Rangers take on Kilmarnock this lunchtime.

However, the fans are all buzzing after Celtic put out a post on social media channel X yesterday afternoon asking them what they thought about Callum McGregor and James Forrest‘s performance against Hearts yesterday:

And it had the Celtic fans heaping praise on the legendary Hoops duo.

Forrest and McGregor lauded by the Celtic support

As I said previously, Celtic will be looking to the likes of McGregor and Forrest to help get this title over the line and yesterday afternoon they were excellent against Hearts.

McGregor was rated 7.9 on Fotmob and Forrest was given a brilliant 7.6 by the football stats site.

But stats only tell half the story. Watching players and the effort they put in tells the other half and these Celtic fans were in no doubt about what they felt about their two heroes after yesterday’s Hearts win.

This fan was delighted with the quality of their performances:

Another believed McGregor looked back to his best after his recent injury:

‘Born winners’ said this fan:

And another just had one word to say about the two Celtic legends:

And there were many, many more replies just these on the thread. It’s great to see Forrest get some well-deserved recognition after what he has contributed to Celtic not just in the league but the Scottish Cup as well.

Goals against Aberdeen and Dundee have kept Celtic on track for a double this season and McGregor’s usual energy in the heart of the midfield was outstanding again yesterday.

With two Glasgow Derby’s still to go this season, you would not bet against either of these icons having a big say in helping Celtic pick up a positive result against our rivals as the season shapes up towards an exciting climax.
