N.J. weather: Rain, fog, storm threat ahead this week

Look for more rain, clouds and cool temperatures for Sunday.

After a damp and gloomy Saturday, prepare for more of the same on Sunday, with clouds, showers and cool temperatures to wrap up the weekend.

While temperatures will warm up this week, look for a chance of rain showers for the next several days, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.

Highs will reach the mid- to upper-50s in North Jersey and hit the low-60s in South Jersey on Sunday, before dropping into the 50s across the state overnight, the weather service said.

Look for showers to move across the region Sunday afternoon, followed by fog in the evening and another round of rain showers.

While the weather might put a damper on outdoor weekend plans, the rain is needed, the weather service said, and it will help allergy suffers by cutting pollen levels.

Temperatures climb toward 80 in some spots on Monday under mostly cloudy skies, as an unsettled weather pattern brings an ongoing chance for showers.

Partial sunshine returns for Tuesday as temperatures hit the upper-70s.

Look for possible thunderstorms through mid-week, the weather service said.
