Liverpool were back to their very best on Sunday afternoon. Jurgen Klopp’s men dominated the ball and created plenty of chances against Tottenham.

It was a performance which saw Liverpool finally converting their chances as well, and showing what Klopp’s style of football can offer at its peak.

And while it was a good Sunday for Liverpool’s soon to be departing manager, it was also a great afternoon for Liverpool’s potential new manager.

On Sunday night, Arne Slot’s side Feyenoord took on PEC Zwolle in the Eredivisie, and did one better than Liverpool.

Slot’s team won 5-0, producing a very dominant performance with four different goal-scorers.

Among the goal-scorers were Santiago Gimenez, who scored a brace, Lutsharel Geertruida, Luka Ivanusec and Ayase Ueda.

The five more goals on Sunday means Slot’s side has now scored 85 goals this season. More than the 81 goals they scored last season when they won the league title.

On this occasion, though, PSV have pipped them to that distinction. But Sunday night was still a cheery evening for Slot.

During the celebrations with fans after the game, Slott was even spotted emulating Jurgen Klopp’s famous fist bump at Anfield by Daily Mail journalist, Lewis Steele.

What is the latest on Arne Slot?

Arne Slot is undoubtedly the favourite to become Liverpool’s next manager. He has made his intentions clear in that he wants to join the club.

However, Liverpool are yet to officially confirm his appointment or strike a deal with Feyenoord over a compensation figure.

It remains to be seen when the announcement is made. But at this moment in time it feels like a matter of when, not if.
