‘Enough is enough’: Alan Myers thinks the ‘time has come’ for 777 Partners to make big Everton admission

With Everton having secured their top-flight status, attention was always bound to drift away from the pitch.

And with the countless horrors for fans to contend with, there were certainly plenty to choose from.

But the one that seems to be showing no signs of solving itself is the takeover situation, with 777 Partners having struck a deal with Farhad Moshiri back in September but since failed to finalise it eight months on.

The Premier League stand in the way, but so does the Miami-based firm’s inability to pay their way into the position of power.

Now, reporter Alan Myers has offered his verdict on the mess.

Alan Myers sends message to Farhad Moshiri and 777 Partners

Writing in his reporter’s notebook for Sky Sports, the journalist has been upfront about Everton’s outstanding issues for many months now.

However, he has often sought to avoid getting mixed up in the politics of it all, only weighing in when he has the facts, or when he wants to issue a rallying cry to the fans.

Well, his latest piece actually seems like a blend of the two, as he has sent out an impassioned plea to Moshiri and 777 Partner telling them how these Evertonians deserve to be treated.

He wrote: ‘Whether communication is from 777 Partners, Moshiri or the Premier League, the fans won’t really care. Everton fans have made clear they just want to know where the club’s future lies, why this process has taken so long, and what happens if or when 777 meet the Premier League’s conditions to complete the takeover – and possibly more intriguingly what happens if they don’t.

‘The feeling among most observers is that enough is enough, and the time has come for clarity from 777 Partners and its ability to satisfy what seems to be an increasingly inconsistent and complex Premier League process.

‘The lack of any meaningful communication on the matter is damaging the club, dismantling the upturn of positivity resulting from a run of form which has ended all fears of relegation, and more importantly feeding rumour and speculation as to the financial stability of the club.’

Everton fans have been kept in the dark

Both related to this ongoing takeover drama and the PSR mess that the Premier League have conjured, Evertonians have been the common denominator that continues to suffer.

After all, the potential destruction of the club would obviously affect plenty, but those who have been supporting their whole lives will be left with a particularly huge gap should it cease to exist or start tumbling down the leagues.

And with the PSR, the irony of the Premier League has really been on show.

When the ‘Big Six’ sought to rip apart English football with their entrance into the ‘Super League’ back in 2021, many remonstrations were touted.

‘Don’t punish the fans for the decisions made by the owner,’ most called when coming to a conclusion on that matter, and in the end, a pitiful fine was handed out.

Fast forward to this season, and both the Toffees and Nottingham Forest have been dealt with deductions which directly impact the fans due to the financial misconduct of those within their clubs.

The supporters’ treatment has been so severe all campaign, and what’s worse is that what they don’t know is probably even worse than what they do.
