'Next level' Balague's very exciting statement about new West Ham boss Lopetegui

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has made a very exciting statement about new West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui.

Julen Lopetegui has agreed to become West Ham’s new manager to replace David Moyes.

That has been confirmed by multiple sources today in the wake of West Ham’s 5-0 defeat at Chelsea.

Hammers News told you David Sullivan had chosen Lopetegui earlier this week having been ‘won over’ by the ex Wolves boss in talks.

But there is perhaps no source better to confirm the news than Spanish football aficionado Guillem Balague.

The well connected journalist has been chosen to write biographies by some of the biggest names in football – past and present – from Diego Maradona to Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Pep Guardiola and many more.

New boss must win over West Ham sceptics

Lopetegui may have won over Sullivan but now he has to win over sceptical West Ham fans.

AC Milan fans forced their club to withdraw their contract from the table for Lopetegui.

That left him in ‘shock and disbelief’.

And some Hammers fans tried a similar tactic by launching an online petition against the prospect of hiring the former Spain boss.

West Ham fans craved a modern, innovative, attack-minded manager to replace Moyes.

The truth is many Hammers supporters don’t see Lopetegui as that man.

Not helped by a top Wolves expert backing up their reservations following his strange 27-game spell at Molineux.

Well if supporters were looking for some hope to cling onto, then it has arrived from one of Spain’s top football journalists and pundits.

Balague’s exciting Lopetegui statement will reassure fans

Because Balague has made a very exciting statement about new West Ham boss Lopetegui which will reassure fans.

Taking to X to confirm Lopetegui has agreed to become West Ham’s new manager, Balague declared he is ready to ‘take West Ham to the next level’.

And he also said Lopetegui will prove he is one of the top managers in Europe.

“West Ham and Julen Lopetegui have reached an agreement,” Balague said.

“Another chance to show, as he did at Wolves, that he is one of the top European managers.

“He had offers from European teams but his priority was to take over a Champions League side or stay in England. The AC Milan situation (six months working to take over after agreement with the club, for the club to change their mind influenced by ultras) left him a sour taste but his final choice (West Ham) has reinvigorated him.

“It is the longest he has been not managing and now he is ready to take West Ham to the next level.”

One thing about West Ham fans is that they will give Lopetegui a fair chance.

We will all be hoping it is Balague – and not the many West Ham cynics out there – who is proved right.

Now West Ham fans can give Moyes the send off he deserves when the Hammers welcome Luton to the London Stadium on Saturday.
