Hackers try to steal Taylor Swift tickets from German fans

Hackers have attempted to steal and resell digital concert tickets for US pop star Taylor Swift's performances in Germany, ticket exchange company Eventim said on Monday.

Eventim has temporarily suspended the resale of Swift tickets, a spokesman for the company told dpa. The number of unauthorized resales is in the low double-digit range.

Swift, 34, starts the European part of her tour in a few days and will also be coming to Germany for several dates in July in major stadiums.

The tickets were only available via Eventim and sold out immediately.

As a security measure, the tickets were personalized. It is only possible to resell them via an Eventim ticket exchange.

According to the spokesman, Eventim has reset the passwords of a number of users as a precautionary measure. He stressed, however, that the measure does not mean that all these people are affected by the hacker attack.

Once a new password has been set up, the digital tickets should be visible again. In general, Eventim recommended that users change their password.

Transactions that were identified as fraudulent have been reversed, and Eventim reported the incidents to the police.
