Ben Affleck was one of the many celebrities to roast Tom Brady in a live Netflix special last night, but fans were more focused on his ‘unrecognizable appearance’ and his ‘unexpected rant’.
The Hollywood star took to the stage as a surprise celebrity guest, although his ‘so-called roast’ didn’t go down too well with fans. The star recently featured in a Dunkin Donuts Super Bowl commercial featuring Brady, which fans loved. Unlike, Ben Affleck‘s Netflix appearance this weekend.

The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady was branded by Netflix as ‘the first ever roast to be telecast live, unedited.’
Although Ben was brought out as a surprise comic, fans thought he seemed to ‘miss the point’ of a roast, seemingly going on a rant instead. Afterward, the star said he’d probably “never work again.”
In one segment, the star could be heard ‘ranting’ about fans on social media. “The fans have your back,” he began. “You guys, talking s*** behind your f****** keyboard, that doesn’t make you a fan. That makes you a b****.”
He also recalled the former NFL star asking him to look at his social media accounts. “Tom asked me to look at his social media accounts for him,” the movie star said.
“I guess for some reason, he gets a lot of online criticism. But I took a look at it, and I gotta say, I didn’t even last two f***** hours. It was the most toxic thing I have ever experienced.”
After the live streaming, fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter to comment on the Argo star’s ‘unrecognizable’ look, and his ‘unexpected’ rant.
“This Ben Affleck speech looks like an SNL actor is portraying Ben Affleck. Why does he look like that??” questioned one fan.
Another fan questioned: “Why did Ben Affleck leave the stage after his segment? And… why doesn’t he look like himself?”
“He doesn’t Understand what a roast is, he’s just yapping,” another said.
A fourth wrote: “Ben just complained the entire time.”
Ben Affleck ‘likely’ to attend Met Gala to be by Jennifer Lopez’s side
Tonight marks the most important event in fashion, the Met Gala, where Ben’s wife, Jennifer Lopez will serve as co-chair alongside the likes of Zendaya, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth.
Ben is likely to attend the Vogue event in New York to be by his side, although he did give it a miss in 2023.
At the time, The Daily Mail reported that the 51-year-old was unable to attend due to having “work commitments he could not get out of” in Los Angeles.
Instead, the On The Floor singer brought her sister Lynda Lopez as her plus one to Casamigos’ Met Gala after-party.
Although Affleck was recently in California for the Tom Brady roast, we’re hoping he can make the flight to be by his wife’s side.
