What Erik ten Hag did immediately at full-time against Crystal Palace is not a good look

Manchester United suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat against Crystal Palace in the Premier League, in a night to forget for Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag and his first-team squad were picked apart by Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace on Monday. They were simply sensational.

In particular, Manchester United-linked Michael Olise was an absolute wizard on that right-hand side. He gave Aaron Wan-Bissaka a torrid night.

Now, Ten Hag has further immense pressure on his job title. This 4-0 battering is reminiscent of the loss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer suffered against Watford, which ultimately led to his demise.

What the current Manchester United manager did at full-time will definitely do him no favours.

Erik ten Hag went straight down the tunnel at full-time

As the full-time whistle blew, Ten Hag headed onto the pitch to shake hands with the officials, then turned back, shook hands with a couple of Palace staff members and headed straight for the tunnel.

In contrast, all of the Manchester United first-team squad players went over to applaud the fans, who were all basically still there at full-time despite the appalling display.

Jamie Carragher lauded the fans after the game on Sky Sports Monday Night Football. He said: “That is absolutely amazing support from Manchester United fans, they don’t deserve that support, incredible.”

The 13th man was the only real Manchester United positive asset on Monday night. They deserved better from their manager.

Poor to the fantastic Manchester United away support from Ten Hag

This was a poor move from Ten Hag, which will have upset more than a few of the travelling supporters. The least he could have done is face the music in front of the Red Devils faithful. That’s all they ask.

The decision to shun the fans after the 4-0 drubbing will have done him no favours in terms of his popularity, which is seemingly on a slow decline game by game.
