David Ornstein makes incredible Lopetegui claim that'll have West Ham fans dancing on rooftops

Well-renowned football journalist David Ornstein has just made a fresh claim about soon-to-be West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui.

Julen Lopetegui is all set to replace David Moyes as the new West Ham boss when the Scot’s contract expires, and David Ornstein has shared some hugely exciting news.

Guillem Balague explained how Lopetegui is determined to prove that he’s one of the very best European managers, and that he’s ready to take West Ham to the next level.

He is all set to be handed the reins at the London Stadium on July 1st, and he has a lot of work lying ahead of him.

Whilst he wasn’t most Hammers fans’ first choice to replace Moyes, he certainly has a long and successful history in the football management game.

I feel like the majority of West Ham supporters are massively underestimating Lopetegui’s ability, myself included!

He’s surely an upgrade on Moyes – he wouldn’t have been the manager of Real Madrid and Spain if he wasn’t, there’s no doubt in my mind about that.

And now Ornstein has given us all real reason to be excited about Lopetegui’s impending arrival at the London Stadium…

David Ornstein makes startling Julen Lopetegui claim

I think the reason that some of the Hammers fans are disappointed with the impending appointment of the Spaniard is that they were pining for Ruben Amorim or Paulo Fonseca instead.

Lopetegui possesses a pretty impressive track record when you look at his history.

He won the Europa League with Sevilla and guided them to three consecutive fourth placed finishes in La Liga during his three years in charge at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

They had only finished inside the top four of the table once in the nine previous seasons before Lopetegui took over.

I actually think he’s a clear upgrade on Moyes, the more I study about him.

And David Ornstein’s message on X has just confirmed that to me.

The Athletic journalist has claimed that Bayern Munich made a late enquiry for the 57-year-old, but he wants to manage West Ham instead:

That’s really exciting for two reasons.

Firstly, the fact that a club as big as Bayern wanted to appoint Lopetegui shows us all just how highly rated he is within the game.

And secondly, the Spaniard has actually decided to join us over the Bundesliga giants. That proves to me that he has been assured about many things from the Hammers owners, not least a healthy summer transfer budget.

I truly believe that we all need to get behind the former Wolves boss.

The latest claim from David Ornstein on Julen Lopetegui proves why he could actually be a good appointment for West Ham.
