BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has tipped one Arsenal star for the Premier League Player of the Season award after their display against AFC Bournemouth.
The Gunners enjoyed another fantastic result at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday as a Declan Rice-inspired performance saw Arsenal claim a huge 3-0 win in the Premier League title race.
With Joe Cole likening Rice to a Manchester United legend and Ian Wright raving over what he saw from the midfielder, it’s safe to say that pundits were impressed with what they saw from the 25-year-old on the weekend.
Yet according to Crooks, another Arsenal player caught his eye against Bournemouth, alongside Rice.
Martin Odegaard praised after ‘exceptional’ Arsenal display vs Bournemouth
Writing for BBC Sport, Crooks was full of praise for Martin Odegaard, with the pundit putting the Arsenal captain in contention for the Premier League Player of the Season award after another fine year for the Gunners captain.
Crooks wrote about Odegaard’s performance: “The same team for the third consecutive game suggests Mikel Arteta has got nothing to lose by sticking his big guns in for the remainder. After all, Manchester City are in the driving seat with a game in hand and only one point behind.

“Arsenal look like they won’t be getting any favours from them. However, that background noise failed to stop Odegaard from producing another stellar performance against a hard done by Bournemouth side. Odegaard has had an exceptional season and is in my running for the footballer of the year award.
“He is a throwback to the days of old when the captain of the team wasn’t just one of the best players but also commanded respect, displayed a maturity, and conducted himself well. The Norway international possesses all of those qualities with loads to spare. A model professional if ever I saw one.”

Odegaard has once again been one of the star players for Arsenal this season, with the playmaker creating 15 big chances and managing 20 goal contributions in all competitions.
And as a result, Odegaard should be a strong contender for Premier League Player of the Season, with the Norwegian international a player who is simply impossible for Arsenal to replace.
Indeed, Odegaard’s form since the turn of the year has been electric, and the midfielder was box office yet again on Saturday against Bournemouth, with Arsenal set for a dramatic end to the season.
