Juan Foyth sends two-word message to former Tottenham teammate Harry Winks after Leicester City’s promotion

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth has now issued a message to midfielder Harry Winks over social media.

Ange Postecoglou‘s first season at the helm in north London is coming to a close but it seems he kay have made a mistake in his first summer window.

Tottenham are on course to secure Europa League football after failing to qualify for any European competition last season.

And they will have done so having seen a lot of change sanctioned by Daniel Levy over the last 12 months with a lot of movement at Hotspur Way.

Numerous players have come and gone over the last two transfer windows in north London; the most noteworthy being the sale of Harry Kane.

One who left was Winks and he has now gone on to get his hands on some silverware – albeit in the second tier – with his new club Leicester City.

What Juan Foyth has now said to Harry Winks after leaving Spurs

On the whole, Tottenham’s transfer business has been impressive under Postecoglou with the Australian making some headway into making this squad his own.

A number of familiar faces in north London have now moved on with the likes of Hugo Lloris and Eric Dier also leaving.

It is just what the club needed in getting rid of players who the manager did not see as having a future.

But there may be one player who Tottenham are now looking back on as potentially getting rid of for too little.

Midfielder Harry Winks departed the club in the summer to join Championship side Leicester City for a fee of just £10m.

And defender Foyth has now chipped in on a recent Instagram post from the Englishman hailing him as a “top player”.

The post on social media was in celebration of Leicester winning the Championship as they returned to the Premier League first time of asking.

Winks now finds himself added to a list of players who have moved on from Tottenham to then get their hands on a trophy.

Interesting Harry Winks stats show he could have done a job for Ange Postecoglou

One of the big issues at Tottenham right now is the performances of Postecoglou’s midfielders.

Neither Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr nor Rodrigo Bentancur have been able to lay down any consistent form this year.

And yet Winks has shown that with a consistent run of games he is capable of providing a team a solid option in the midfield.

Of course, it has to be taken with a pinch of salt as he is playing in the Championship. But it will be interesting to see how he fares next season.

Tottenham are already being linked with a number of midfielders going into the summer with Conor Gallagher perhaps the biggest name.

But with Maddison failing to impress since early on in the season, it does look like Leicester may be the happier of the two clubs after their summer dealings.
