Ben Foster believes one Liverpool youngster could ‘come into his own’ at Anfield next season.
Liverpool got back on track with a 4-2 victory over Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday.
It looks to be too little too late for Liverpool in terms of the title, with Arsenal five points ahead with just two games remaining.
But Jurgen Klopp will be keen to go out on a high by ending the season with positive results.
Their dismantling of Spurs was a good start, despite a questionable final 30 minutes in the game when Ange Postecoglou’s side threatened a late comeback.
One Liverpool star who caught the eye on Sunday was Harvey Elliott and Ben Foster believes the 21-year-old is set for a big season next time out.
Foster says Harvey Elliott could explode at Liverpool next season
Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, Foster admitted he was impressed with Elliott’s display against Spurs.
The former Manchester United goalkeeper believes next season could be a big one for the youngster.
“Harvey Elliott’s performance, I was double impressed with Harvey Elliott at the weekend,” Foster said.
“I think next season, he could really come into his own.”
Where will Elliott fit in under Arne Slot?
Arne Slot looks set to be the man to replace Klopp at Liverpool and the current squad seem well-suited to his demands.
The Dutchman boasts a similar style and system to that of Klopp but it’s fair to say that Elliott is yet to find a favoured position at Liverpool.
Indeed, he’s often been used off the right-hand side as a substitute but he excelled as part of the midfield three against Spurs.
Elliott picked up a 9.5 match rating from Sofascore, the highest of any Liverpool player on the day.

It was brilliant to see Elliott operate in a central role once again and that does seem to be his most natural position.
Klopp may decide to hand the youngster a run in the side in midfield for the rest of the season, which would give him the chance to impress ahead of Slot’s arrival.
