Why Real Madrid did not try to sign Brazilian sensation who has been compared to Endrick

Real Madrid are set to be greeted by the arrival of Brazillian wonderkid Endrick in the summer, but he will not be joined by one of his teammates.

Endrick is seen as one of the brightest talents to come out of Brazil in recent years, and at 17, he is already a key player for Palmeiras, and has scored for his National Team.

Real Madrid will now add Endrick to a front line containing Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, who are also likely to be joined by Kylian Mbappe, in what will arguably be the best attacking lineup in World football.

However, despite previous links, they will not be joined by fellow Palmeiras sensation Estevao Willian, who looks set to join Chelsea.

Real Madrid are not in the race for Estevao Willian

The Athletic have now reported that the 17-year-old winger was eyed up by Real Madrid, but problems with his agent meant that they never formalised their interest in him, and will not try and snatch Estevao from under Chelsea’s noses.

“Madrid also received positive reports about Estevao but the relationship between chief scout Juni Calafat and the player’s agent Andre Cury made a deal difficult,” the report stated.

With Real Madrid already well stocked in his position, it is perhaps not a surprise that there is little desperation to complete a deal for Estevao, but the club could have moved anyway to secure one of Brazil’s biggest talents.

Although Estevao, who has been given the nickname of “Messinho,” has scored just three times in 14 senior appearances for Palmeiras, he is already recognised as a potential superstar for the future.

He made a matchday squad for the first time as a 16-year-old, and has already made an impact in the Copa Libertadores.

Endrick, by comparison, has 20 goals in 77 senior appearances, but despite being the same age, is further ahead in his development.

Estevao has naturally drawn comparisons with Endrick given their stunning breakthroughs in Brazil, but it appears that just one of the two potentially generational talents will be moving to the Santiago Bernabeu.
