'Astonishing' £10m Leeds target produced three assists in 5-1 win over Robin Koch's side on Saturday

A player linked with a move to Leeds United laid on three assists in a 5-1 win on the weekend and was even named in the Bundesliga Team of the Week after his performance.

Leeds are set to be busy in the transfer market regardless of whether they are in the Championship or in the Premier League. Plenty of players currently out on loan are likely to be sold to bring in some cash.

Reports say Marc Roca will return from Real Betis before an exit is sorted out, while Rasmus Kristensen is also set to return to Elland Road from his loan at Roma with the Italians not open to a permanent signing.

Others are likely to join them and sales could be secured for the likes of Roca and Kristensen. Such cash will give Daniel Farke room to move this summer, with a new left-back, a midfielder and a no.10 required.

Leeds are set to enter the play-offs with Norwich standing in their way in the semi-finals and promotion will make the summer look very different and if they do go up, one target is Leverkusen’s Adam Hlozek.

The Czech Republic striker has just helped Leverkusen win the Bundesliga title but he is being linked with a move to Leeds. On Saturday though, he might have just tempted Xabi Alonso to keep him in Germany.

Adam Hlozek lays on three assists amid Leeds and Leicester links

The 21-year-old was handed only his fourth League start on Saturday as Leverkusen, who have already been crowned champions under Alonso but will want to remain unbeaten, faced Robin Koch’s Frankfurt.

Hlozek was excellent as he laid on three assists, taking his tally to 12 goals and assists in 33 appearances this term. Such form has caught the eye of clubs around Europe, including that of Leeds and Leicester.

The Leverkusen attacker was even included in the Bundesliga Team of the Week for his efforts, as Alonso takes a step closer to going the entire season unbeaten in all competitions.

Promotion is key if Leeds or Leicester are to sign Hlozek

Reports state that Leeds and Leicester want to sign Hlozek as do Kristensen and Diego Llorente’s Roma, with a fee of £10m said to be enough to get the deal done even if his contract still has three years to run.

It goes without saying that if Leeds or Leicester were to move for the “astonishing” Hlozek, then a place in the Premier League is crucial to get a deal done and that means Leeds must win the play-offs to do that.

Leicester of course, are already there and have booked their place in next season’s top tier. But whether The Foxes start on 0 points remains to be seen, with the potential of a points deduction on the horizon
