Report: Premier League club now unsure about signing Everton player as £60m price-tag emerges

Arsenal are now unsure on whether to sign Everton midfielder Amadou Onana after previously showing interest in the Belgium international.

The 22-year-old’s future has often been a talking point despite only joining the club in the summer of 2022.

His performances on the international stage have been mightily impressive and have no doubt alerted potential suitors to his ability.

At times this season, questions have been raised over his performances, but for the most part, there’s an understanding of just how valuable the 22-year-old is.

Premier League interest in Onana is well documented.

Newcastle United were the latest side to register interest but remain unsure of Everton’s asking price.

It’s a similar story for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal. According to Sportslens UK, the Everton midfielder has been watched by the Gunners for a long time.

However, reservations are believed to remain over any potential transfer, with the Toffees demanding £60million for the midfielder.

Should Everton consider selling Amadou Onana this summer?

Everton might not have a choice when it comes to Onana’s future this summer.

As Evertonians are well aware, 777 Partners’ protracted takeover is dramatically impacting off-the-field operations. If the current situations spill over into the summer, there’s every chance of the club being forced to sell in the transfer window.

According to talkSPORT, Jordan Pickford could well be sold if the takeover fails to go through in a desperate bid to raise funds. A similar outcome cannot be ruled out regarding Onana.

The Belgian is one of the club’s biggest assets and if the price is right, could exit in order to appease boardroom wranglings. It’s far from ideal, but cannot be ruled out given the current state of the club’s financial situation.

A difficult couple of months could well be in store unless a dramatic turnaround off-the-field turnaround occurs.
