‘He’s got everything’: Bernardo Silva says there is nothing £220k-a-week Man City teammate can’t do

Bernardo Silva has said that one of his Manchester City can do absolutely everything on the pitch.

The midfielder has now made 351 appearances for the Manchester club since arriving from Monaco in the 2017 summer transfer window.

During his time with the Blues, Silva has lined up alongside numerous players and won numerous trophies including five Premier League titles.

Now though, the City star has taken the time to share some significant praise for one of his teammates, who, like Silva, has played a big role in the Manchester club’s latest campaign.

In a recent YouTube short shared on the Premier League’s official channel, Silva was tasked with building his ultimate five-a-side team filled with his City teammates.

Once the 29-year-old got to the midfield area of his team, he had this to say on the matter.

He said: “I’m going first with Rodri. One of the most important positions nowadays in football.

“He’s got everything in terms of normally in that position you’re either good defensively and physically strong or good with the ball and he’s got both.

“And then he adds goals to his game.”

Since joining the Manchester club from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth £62m in the 2019 summer transfer window, the Spaniard has appeared in 253 games for City across all competitions.

Having scored 25 goals and delivered 30 assists in a City shirt, Rodri has, like Silva, won a lot of trophies during his time with Pep Guardiola’s side.

Rodri has been unreal this season

This season has seen the Spain international start all of the 31 Premier League games he’s appeared in.

Across those 31 games, the £220k-a-week midfielder has shown the qualities he has in terms of being an all-round player.

For example, from an attacking point of view, the 27-year-old has made more shot-creating actions (148) and goal-creating actions (23) than any other City player.

Then from a defensive perspective, Rodri has the highest combined total of tackles and interceptions (87) in the squad.

This makes it easy to see why Silva has picked the Spaniard in his ultimate City five-a-side.
