‘Needs to improve’: Tim Sherwood says there's one thing Erling Haaland can get better at

Tim Sherwood has pinpointed one thing that Manchester City striker Erling Haaland can improve on.

The Norwegian scored four goals during his latest appearance for the Citizens in their 5-1 win over Wolves in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium.

These goals took his tally for the season to 25 scored in 28 league games.

After the game, one pundit and former top-flight manager has shared his assessment of what Haaland did against Wolves and what he can get better at moving forward.

Speaking in a recent edition of The Weekend Wrap by Premier League Productions (via Optus Sport), Sherwood had this to say on the matter when watching Haaland’s highlights from the Wolves game.

He said: “Look at this pass though by Rodri. A bit more pace on it and he guides it into the corner.

“He can get better at that, he’s not the best header of the ball.

“I like the ones where you get in front of the defender, that’s what he needs to improve on.”

Since joining the Manchester club back in the 2022 summer transfer window, the striker has made 94 appearances in all competitions.

Across those 94 games, Haaland has found the back of the net 88 times in total, 36 of which have come in this season.

Erling Haaland will improve at Man City

Back in March, the 23-year-old was criticised for his general play outside of scoring goals, with Roy Keane likening him to a League Two player.

With a passing accuracy percentage of 75.5%, the second-lowest in the City squad, this is an area, as well as Sherwood’s suggestion of being able to get in front of defenders to win headers, where the centre-forward can improve.

While Pep Guardiola has said that there is always something Haaland and his teammates can improve on, we feel that if he keeps working hard on the training pitch and keeps scoring goals on a consistent basis, other areas of his overall game will get better.
