'I believe': Kendry Paez now explains why he thinks he's going to hit the ground running at Chelsea

Kendry Paez does not look to be fazed by his move to Chelsea at all.

Kendry Paez is still just 17 years old and Chelsea paid Independiente del Valle around £17m for his signature last summer.

There is going to be a lot of pressure on the midfielder when he eventually joins the Blues. He is unable to link up with them until he turns 18.

However, Paez does not look to be worried.

He recently scored a really good goal in IDV’s 1-0 win against Deportivo Cuenca, showing his talent.

Kendry Paez preparing for Chelsea move

There is still some time to go before Paez can join Chelsea’s senior squad, but it looks like the young Ecuadorian is already trying to prepare for things now and is confident he can arrive at the club ready to make an impact.

“I’m trying to play the starting games, score goals, be a protagonist and give assists,” he was quoted as saying by Ecuavisa.

“I believe that the day-to-day training, the Pro League matches, the Libertadores matches, are going to take me to Chelsea in the best way.”

Chelsea want to sign another young South American

Paez could eventually be joined by Palmeiras’ Estevao Willian, who is also 17 years of age.

Journalist Jorge Nicola recently claimed that Chelsea are the favourites to land Estevao.

Since then, The Athletic has reported that the Blues are in talks to sign the Brazilian winger.

Chelsea really are trying to build an incredible team for the future, which is not a problem as long as they do not neglect the present.

Unfortunately, it has felt like that at times since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital bought the club. They have not signed too many experienced players, which is probably one reason for the team’s struggles this season.

Chelsea have improved lately and now find themselves in seventh place, but they have been nowhere near the Champions League spots.
