'Wow' – Jadon Sancho shares telling first message after becoming Champions League finalist with Borussia Dortmund

Manchester United misfit Jadon Sancho dropped a poignant first message after German club Borussia Dortmund punched their ticket to the Champions League final.

Borussia Dortmund took control of their Champions League destiny in the semi-finals after they defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the first leg at the Westfalenstadion.

Jadon Sancho, who signed on loan for Dortmund in January, was widely hailed for his impressive performance in the first-leg semi-final tie earlier this month.

Dortmund travelled to the Parc des Princes on Tuesday and Edin Terzic’s men ensured another big result on the night in Paris.

Mats Hummels scored in the second half against PSG, with the reigning Ligue 1 champions unable to pull themselves into the contest against Dortmund

Dortmund will be heading to Wembley on 1st June and will face either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.

Man Utd winger Sancho sends message

Jadon Sancho’s club future was bleak in 2023 after he was frozen out of the Manchester United first team following his rift with Erik ten Hag.

The 24-year-old United winger had reportedly refused to apologise to Ten Hag after he hit back in a bombshell statement on social media last September.

Ten Hag had publicly criticised Sancho after the United boss revealed why the Borussia Dortmund player failed to make his squad for the Arsenal match.

Fast-forward to 2024 and Sancho was handed a lifeline away from Old Trafford when former club Dortmund signed him on a six-month loan deal.

Sancho took to Instagram after the second-leg Champions League semi-final tie and the former England international couldn’t hold back his excitement.

He wrote: “Champions League Final [sic]! Wow wow wow, Unbelievable! [Borussia Dortmund] WEMBLEY HERE WE COME!”

Rio Ferdinand on Sancho and Man Utd future

Sancho has made 12 Bundesliga appearances since his return to Germany and scored twice and registered two assists for Dortmund in the league.

The former Three Lions winger’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain and it is believed that United are keen to recuperate as much transfer fee as possible for him.

Rio Ferdinand believes that the only way that Sancho could continue his future at United is if Ten Hag is no longer the manager of the Red Devils.

“He is in good form and needs to follow it up, then he really puts pressure on Manchester United,” he said on TNT Sports, as per The Daily Mail.

“People behind the scenes, Ineos, will be asking why that isn’t happening in a United shirt. I think the only way he goes back is if Erik ten Hag isn’t there.

“I don’t think they can undermine the manager without an apology, I think the manager has to be gone for Sancho to go back to Manchester United.”
