‘He always loses’: Aaron Ramsdale says £4m Arsenal player is never on the winning team in training

Standards in training at Arsenal must be at an all-time high.

The Gunners are top of the Premier League for a reason, and that’s because all of their players are playing at the top of their game.

Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Aaron Ramsdale has given us some insight into the Gunners’ training sessions, and he spoke about Cedric Soares in training.

The goalkeeper made a joke about Cedric’s ability in training, claiming that he always loses whenever the team are tasked with playing a five-a-side game.

Cedric Soares never wins in training

Ramsdale spoke about Cedric and the fact he never wins in these training games.

“Cedric is on there as well. The black cap, he always loses at five-a-side, he lost today,” Ramsdale said.

Cedric Soares won’t be sharp

Cedric Soares is a talented player, but it’s not surprising to hear that he’s always on the losing team in Arsenal training.

The £5m right-back is one of the weaker members of an Arsenal squad packed with world-class talent, and he barely gets a game for the Gunners.

Cedric has barely played this season, so he’s bound to not be as sharp as his peers.

The likes of Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Kai Havertz will all be playing at the peack of their powers at the moment as they’re very much in the rhythm of playing every week and winning, but, unfortunately, Cedric hasn’t been allowed to build up that head of steam and gather any sort of momentum.

Cedric is probably a beat behind everyone else in Arsenal training, and when you’re playing such small-sided games, it only takes one weak link in the squad to completely change the balance of the games.

Cedric is set to leave Arsenal this summer, and perhaps his talents will be better showcased elsewhere when he’s allowed to play regular football.
