'Switched': Liam Scales has noticed something different about Celtic's fans at Parkhead recently

As Celtic prepare to face Rangers on Saturday, the fans will play a huge part in helping Brendan Rodgers’ side get the result the team need to get us a step closer to becoming crowned champions again.

With three points separating Celtic from Rangers, a win with just two games to go almost takes us over the line.

And, whilst not impossible, it would be very difficult for the Ibrox club to catch Celtic unless we lost our last two remaining games against Hearts (A) and St Mirren (H).

With two of our final three games at Parkhead, having a packed Celtic Park will be a massive advantage for the team.

Especially after what Liam Scales has noticed about them recently.

Scales hails ‘brilliant’ Celtic fans’ ‘energy’

The Irish defender has been enjoying a very good season at Celtic and really stepped up in the team’s hour of need when injury left Brendan Rodgers‘ team looking threadbare at the start of the season.

And as the season draws to its close, Scales has paid tribute to the Celtic fans after he noticed something different about them over the last few weeks.

Scales said [Daily Record], “The fans have been brilliant though, home and away. Sometimes we go away and it still feels like a home game.

“It’s definitely switched a bit at home in recent times. They have really bought into it and they have been right behind us.

“It’s more about us being exciting to watch and showing them what we are all about. You can definitely feed off the atmosphere.

“The energy dictates how players are going to play. You know if you do the right things they will be right there with you. It’s been great.

“There have been times this season I’ve really felt that energy. There’s been some tackles that have felt like scoring goals!

“You come away feeling really good. It just gives you that buzz and belief to keep going.”

Against Hearts at the weekend, the atmosphere at Celtic Park was electric. The support was superb from the first whistle to the last.

And everyone can relate to what Scales has just said about the crowd cheering a tackle. The reaction to Callum McGregor hunting down a Hearts player and dispossessing him in midfield was simply brilliant.

Against Rangers on Saturday, Celtic Park will be bouncing as 60,000 Hoops supporters turn up to watch their heroes.

Hopefully, the energy produced will help spur the team on to another three points and one step closer to becoming champions again.
