Journo shares Lopetegui's very exciting 6-player transfer plan, Sullivan to provide serious funds

Julen Lopetegui has a really exciting transfer plan in place for when he’s named as the new West Ham United manager it seems.

The West Ham owners have decided to part ways with David Moyes after four-and-a-half years, and the Scot will almost certainly be replaced by Julen Lopetegui.

The 57-year-old won’t officially be named as the new Hammers boss until July 1st, and that will represent big problems in my opinion.

With so many new players needed, and certain squad members needing to be exited, Lopetegui won’t have that much time to work his magic.

The ex-Sevilla manager faces a big rebuild at West Ham, and progress won’t be clear to see overnight.

Moyes has worked wonders at West Ham over the past four years or so, but he has left the squad in a right state. Next season, there will be only seven first-team players under the age of 29, and that’s if Lucas Paqueta stays!

However, an extremely exciting claim has just been shared by a top football journalist regarding Lopetegui’s plans this summer…

Very exciting Julen Lopetegui six-player transfer plan

The upcoming summer transfer window should be a really exciting one for the Hammers fans.

That’s because Lopetegui is planning to bring in so many new players.

The former Wolves boss will clearly be desperate to significantly strengthen his numbers at the London Stadium, with some quality new additions.

According to the Evening Standard, Lopetegui is eyeing six new players this summer, and David Sullivan is prepared to provide the Spaniard with significant funds.

The 57-year-old is apparently prioritising moves to sign a right-back, a centre-forward and a centre-back.

Much work needs to be done at the London Stadium this summer, with 12 Hammers being linked with the exit door.

Let’s say that half of those players leave, then Lopetegui will need to formulate a transfer plan whereby he signs at least eight players in my opinion.

Our squad is too thin as it is, and the Spaniard will need to increase his numbers if we are to compete on all fronts.

That said, the really exciting bit about the Standard’s report is that Sullivan is prepared to back Lopetegui to the hilt financially.

Let’s hope that that does indeed turn out to be the case.
