Donald and Melania Trump haven't slept ‘in the same room’ for years, new claims emerge

Stormy Daniels testified that Donald Trump told her during an encounter in 2006 that he slept in a separate bed and room from his wife, Melania.

The life of Donald Trump has been the subject of endless fascination, before and after he became the 45th President of the United States, taking office in 2017 through to 2021. His wife Melania Trump was by his side as First Lady, and the 54-year-old married the media personality and businessman all the way back in 2005. Although together in marriage, there have been several claims over the years that the pair don’t share a bed when it comes to laying down their heads…

Stormy Daniels says Donald Trump told her he didn’t ‘sleep in the same room’ as Melania

The American adult film actress Stormy Daniels appeared in court on Tuesday, May 7th 2024 as part of an ongoing hush money trial.

Although Trump has denied there was ever an affair between the two, Daniels claims that the pair shared a sexual encounter in July 2006, a year into his marriage with his wife Melania, The Independent reports. Their son Barron was also born four months before the alleged encounter.

Speaking on the witness stand, Daniels testified that Trump asked her to dinner. She went to his penthouse suite and the pair allegedly spoke for almost two hours.

During the conversation, she says Trump showed a picture of his wife and told her: “Don’t worry about that. We don’t even sleep in the same room.”

Trump has vehemently denied the charges in relation to the trial, and according to a reporter, looked ‘irritated’ during Daniels’ testimony.

The case continues.

Claims long outlive 2006

It was over a decade after the alleged affair took place that Donald was inducted into The White House, but claims that the married couple sleep in separate rooms have persisted long after 2006.

Melania moved into the iconic residence a year later than her husband, even.

According to the book Fire And Fury: Inside The Trump White House by Michael Wolff, “Trump, in fact, found the White House to be vexing and even a little scary. He retreated to his own bedroom – the first time since the Kennedy White House that a presidential couple had maintained separate rooms.”

Despite the former president’s claims on X/Twitter that the book was “really boring and untruthful”, biographer Mary Jordan would echo, while speaking on CNN, that the couple lived very privately from one another.

“They’ve been together 22 years,” she began. “And, by all accounts, Donald Trump is not the easiest person to be with for 22 years. I’ve interviewed many people who’ve been to dinner with them, seen them up close, worked for them, and there is a real connection there. But it has changed over time and it goes up and down.”

She went on: “I don’t know any couple that spends as much time apart. They are often in the same building, but nowhere near each other. She rarely goes into the West Wing… She likes to be isolated. She is a loner. He is a loner. They’re perfectly happy to be separated.”

Turning to the pages once again, in Kane Bennett’s book Free, Melania: The Unauthorized Biography, it’s claimed that Trump slept in the master suite while his wife slept and resided in her town suite on the third floor.

If they were experiencing the ‘American dream’ at The White House, it may have been dreamt in separate rooms.
