Google surprised everyone by unveiling the next model in the A series a week before the Google I/O conference, rather than at the event – as was the case for the Pixel 7a in 2023.

When was the Google Pixel 8a released?
The Pixel 8a was officially announced on 7 May 2024.
It’s available to buy now, having been released on 14 May 2024.
How much does the Google Pixel 8a cost?
At launch, Pixel 8a starts at £499/$499 for 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Unlike its predecessor, it is also available in a 256GB version, which will set you back £559/$559.
