Grammy-nominated singer Jewel not only debuted her art exhibit in Arkansas but also stole the show with a futuristic ensemble. Some fans admired her striking outfit, while others considered her bold fashion choice a bit too extravagant for the occasion.
Jewel captivated attendees at the VIP preview of her new exhibit, "The Portal: An Art Experience by Jewel," in Arkansas. The artist turned heads in a breathtaking sculptured silver ensemble by Iris van Herpen, epitomizing a fusion of art and fashion.
Jewel's choice of attire, the Ananda-kosha number, featured intricate sculpted detailing with a silver overlay on a nude slip, which directed all attention to the shimmering metallic elements.
She complemented the statement dress with simple accessories: silver open-toed platform heels, no jewelry, and minimal makeup highlighted with metallic eyeshadow. Her low bun hairstyle, with wavy strands, mirrored the gown's artistic shapes and completed her look.
At the event, which she posted about on Instagram, Jewel discussed her painting "Double Helix," saying it was inspired by her son, Kase Townes Murray, and motherhood. "I think mothering is often praised but not given a lot of space and time to really honoring it. So this is my way of honoring my journey as a mother," she said.
Jewel's commitment to her son touched fans' hearts, but her stunning, otherworldly wardrobe also captured their attention.
Admirers expressed their awe, with one exclaiming, "That dress! Wow," and another marveling, "You look amazing!! That dress. WOW." One fan declared, “You are just the most beautiful human,” while another simply stated, "Unrecognizable." However, not all reactions were positive.
Some felt her outfit overshadowed the exhibit's theme, with one commenter noting, "That dress is just over the top for an art show. It looks like a costume from a sci-fi movie," while another questioned, "What with dress? It overpowers the message."
Besides the futuristic Iris van Herpen ensemble, the acclaimed musician also wore a beautiful, white angelic dress designed by Casey Curran.
Despite mixed reactions from fans, Jewel was proud of her outfits. "I wanted both outfits to evoke the intersection of technology and art and designers Iris van Herpen and Casey both represent this," she said. Jewel's recent fashion and art display came after she sparked romance rumors with actor Kevin Costner.
TMZ reported in December 2023, the two flew to businessman Richard Branson's Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands to attend a tennis fundraiser for the Inspiring Children Foundation. Jewel founded the organization, and Kevin was a guest.
Kevin and Jewel spent more than a week together in the Caribbean, and according to a source, "There was definitely something going on. They were flirty, and when they were together, it was like they both just lit up."
Jewel later mentioned Kevin on her Instagram page while talking about the event. She wrote, "It’s an incredible time, and one I use to relax, rest and play w my son! @kevincostnermodernwest was kind enough to mentor our kids this year."
The musician added that the kids even played tennis with Richard, whom she said "also plays a mean game of doubles!" Jewel and Kevin reportedly returned together after the trip.
This wasn't the first time she spoke about Kevin; Jewel had publicly praised the actor just last month. “He’s a great person,” she said about the acclaimed actor, blushing. She then went on to note the fascination that the public has with him. "The public fascination is intense for sure.”
While some sources viewed her and Kevin as an item, Jewel insists her happiness is not tied to any man. "I found love, and I'm not talking about Kevin's. I'm so happy, irrelevant of a man. It has nothing to do with being in a relationship or not being in one," she said.
She shared the love she had discovered within herself, which she had sought her entire life. "I'm good," she said. Jewel had separated from her husband and Kase's father, rodeo star Ty Murray, in 2014. She admitted that her divorce was a tough choice.
Jewel explained that letting go of the dream of marriage was difficult due to the grief that came with divorce. However, she decided to move on for her own well-being. "I'm a lot more present now. I'm a present mom, which I worked hard on," she added.
Just as Jewel gained her independence after her divorce from Ty, Kevin Costner also found similar freedom, as he finalized his divorce from Christine Baumgartner after nearly 19 years of marriage in late 2023. Kevin's publicist, Arnold Robinson, published a joint statement from the couple.
The message read, "Kevin and Christine Costner have come to an amicable and mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings." This agreement had allowed them to avoid a trial that was scheduled for December 2023 in a Santa Barbara County, California, court.
Amid the divorce, Kevin found an unexpected companion in February 2024. He revealed on Instagram that he had spent Valentine's Day doing a household chore with the newest addition to his family—a charming puppy named Bobby.
The candid snapshot he shared with fans captured a serene moment with the pup. Bobby was seen dozing comfortably on the dishwasher door while Costner tackled the dishes.
Within the text of the picture, Kevin quipped, "Bobby being a big help with the dishes," infusing a touch of humor into the domestic scene. This tender moment came just weeks after Kevin introduced Bobby to his followers on February 1.
The accompanying photos showcased a blossoming bond between the actor and his four-legged friend, with images depicting moments of leisure and warmth. With evident affection, Kevin shared, "Newest addition to the family. I'm already in love with this special guy."
