Tommy Doyle names the one Man City star he absolutely loved playing with

Tommy Doyle has said that one of his former Manchester City teammates is the best player he’s ever played with.

It was announced last week that the midfielder, who had been at City since the age of eight, will join Wolves on a permanent deal in the summer once his current loan spell with the Old Gold ends.

This season has seen the 22-year-old start 17 of the 30 games he’s appeared in across the Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Doyle scored his first and only goal for Gary O’Neil’s side this season during Wolves’ 1-1 draw against Brentford away from home in the third round of the FA Cup.

With the end of his first season at Molineux around the corner, the Englishman has highlighted one player at the Manchester club he particularly enjoyed sharing the pitch with during his time with the Citizens.

In a recent video shared on Wolves’ official TikTok channel, several members of the senior squad at the Midlands club were asked to name the best players they’ve ever played with in their careers.

Doyle then named Kevin De Bruyne as his choice.

Since joining the Manchester club from Wolfsburg back in the 2015 summer transfer window, the Belgian has made 378 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.

Across those games, the 32-year-old has scored 102 goals, provided 168 assists and won many trophies including five Premier League titles.

Doyle is a big fan of De Bruyne

Doyle featured in just two games with De Bruyne during his time at City, playing just 21 minutes of action together in the Manchester club’s 5-0 win over Newcastle United in the 2019/20 Premier League campaign and their 2-1 win against Bournemouth in the third round of the Carabao Cup in the 2020/21 season.

Despite only sharing the pitch for a fairly short period of time, the fact that Doyle picked the City star as the best player he’s ever shared the pitch with shows just how much he admires the Belgian.
