Aaron Ramsdale reveals bizarre nickname one Arsenal teammate has given Declan Rice

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has now revealed the nickname that Declan Rice has been given by one of their Emirates Stadium teammates.

Declan Rice has settled in well to life at Arsenal.

The midfielder joined the North London club in a £105 million move from West Ham United in the recent summer transfer window and immediately hit the ground running for the Gunners.

Rice is now a firm fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium and has earned the respect of his Arsenal teammates. The England man has been sensational on the pitch this season, and has taken his game to another level under the guidance of Mikel Arteta.

Rice has even been hailed as the best Arsenal signing since Dennis Bergkamp was brought to the club.

The former West Ham man has added physicality and steel to the Arsenal team in the middle of the park.

Speaking on the official Premier League YouTube channel, the goalkeeper said of Rice: “Energy and intensity. He can run all day. Zinchenko calls him ‘The Horse.’”

Rice’s energy levels are a hugely important part of this Arsenal team, as they allow him to have an impact at both ends of the pitch. He can get forward frequently, safe in the knowledge that he has the pace and power to track back quickly if Arsenal should lose possession of the ball.

He has also shown that he can contribute a great deal in an attacking sense. Rice has enjoyed his best season of his career so far in front of goal. The 50-cap England international has racked up 7 goals and 10 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.

Declan Rice still looking to improve at Arsenal

Rice has now set his sights on becoming the best box-to-box midfielder in world football. Few would bet against him going on to achieve exactly that.

The 25-year-old now looks set to be a lynchpin in the middle of the park for Arsenal for years to come.

Arteta now needs the player to retain his form and fitness for the final two games of the current campaign. Arsenal are still in with a chance of being crowned Premier League champions, but need to pick up another win against Manchester United on Sunday. Rice will be key to their prospects of winning the midfield battle at Old Trafford.
