The Heron pub in Stow Bridge is put up for sale on Rightmove

A picturesque pub which overlooks the Great River Ouse has been put up for sale - and is valued at nearly £700,000.

The Heron pub in Stow Bridge has been listed on Rightmove with a guide price of £675,000, meaning current owners Tracey Elflett and husband Stuart are looking to move on.

They purchased it back in 2018, and the venue has since underwent a complete restoration and refurbishment - which Cambridge-based agent Everard Cole says has made it “fit for the modern era”.

Inside, there is a main bar, snug area, restaurant, function room with a bar, a side conservatory and access to a garden, and a decking area.

“Great attention has gone into the detailing, from the Heron wallpaper to the usage of natural materials to include flagstone flooring, an oak bar, and wooden beams in the light and airy new restaurant space,” the Everard Cole statement says.

“The current owners have extended the external seating areas to now include a decked area overlooking the Great River Ouse with a well maintained grassed area.”

When Mr and Mrs Elflett bought the pub over in 2018, they spoke to the Lynn News about their delight at purchasing their “local”.

However, they did face trouble late last year when Stow Causeway Bridge was closed off due to a “serious structural defect”, forcing customers to take a long diversion to reach the pub.
