Bukayo Saka says 'only' two Arsenal stars are more intelligent than him, one is a surprise

Bukayo Saka has now named two of his Arsenal teammates who are smarter than everyone else in the squad.

Bukayo Saka has now admitted that he is not the smartest player in the Arsenal squad.

The 22-year-old has a reputation for being particularly intelligent. As reported by The Mirror, the Hale End academy graduate’s exam results are testament to his braininess.

However, there are two other players in Mikel Arteta’s squad who can lay claim to even greater powers of intellect. One of these names will surprise no one, whilst the other may be considered somewhat more unexpected.

In a video posted on the club’s official website, Saka has now revealed the two teammates who he considers to be smarter than himself. He said: “Maybe there’s two or three…Leo Trossard, he’s really smart. Jorginho as well…I think I’d put only those two above me.”

What Jorginho is able to bring to Arsenal

Jorginho is already known to be particularly smart. The veteran midfielder uses his brains on the pitch to make up for his lack of pace. The 32-year-old’s tactical understanding and ability to read the game allow him to avoid being caught out of position or exposed.

Arteta has previously named Jorginho as the most intelligent player he has ever worked with.

His teammates can learn a great deal form the former Chelsea man. He offers a wealth of experience and can provide expert insight into the mechanics of the game. Jorginho has already become something of a mentor to Declan Rice.

The evidence behind Bukayo Saka’s mention of Leandro Trossard

Meanwhile, Saka’s mention of Leandro Trossard may have come as more of a surprise to some. However, the 29-year-old is one of the senior figures in the Arsenal squad and is another who shows great evidence of intelligence in the manner in which he plays the game.

Like Jorginho, Trossard is never the quickest player on the pitch, nor is he the strongest or the one who carries the greatest aerial threat. The Belgian is a brilliant technician, though, and regularly makes smart runs to put himself into goalscoring positions. Trossard has also been described as the best finisher in the Arsenal squad.

Beyond how it may manifest itself on the pitch, there are other reasons for Arteta to covert having intelligent players in his squad, as it suggests that they will take their recovery, health, and fitness seriously by making clever choices in their own time.
