Zaha posts cryptic message as agent 'flies in for West Ham talks'

Wilfried Zaha has posted a cryptic message on social media as his agent reportedly flies in for talks with West Ham.

West Ham have been linked with ex Palace star Wilfried Zaha on several occasions in the past.

The Hammers were heavily linked with a move to bring Zaha back to the Premier League from Galatasaray in January.

Zaha was even linked with a move to West Ham just last month.

West Ham face a major rebuild this summer with six free agent departures leaving the squad size at just 16 players.

That’s before factoring in the potential sales of the likes of Lucas Paqueta.

So it’s clear West Ham technical director Tim Steidten and new manager Julen Lopetegui will be busy.

Zaha linked with Hammers again

Work, it seems, is already underway to line up signings.

According to KUMB, Galatasaray winger Zaha could be the first signing Lopetegui makes when he’s formally announced as the new Hammers boss.

talkSPORT claims Lopetegui will sign his West Ham deal today.

And Zaha might not be too far behind it seems.

“Representatives of the player flew into England for further talks with their counterparts at West Ham,” KUMB claimed.

“KUMB understands that Zaha’s agents met with no other clubs during their two-day visit to London.”

Zaha posts cryptic message amid West Ham talks

So should we read between the lines of the 31-year-old attacker’s social media activity?

Because Zaha has posted a cryptic message as his agent reportedly flies in for West Ham talks.

Taking to X on Wednesday night, Zaha wrote: “God’s timing,” alongside an hourglass emoji – usually used to signify timing or waiting.

Is Zaha referring to the timing of Moyes’ departure, Lopetegui’s appointment and his desire to return to the Premier League?

It seems rather coincidental that his words come amid the fresh reports of a potential move to West Ham.

One look at the replies shows many West Ham fans are certainly seeing it as a hint he could be on his way.

Zaha only joined Gala last summer but has not played as many games as he would have anticipated.

The ex Palace winger has started just 20 matches for the Turkish giants in the league and Europe.

But his record is very respectable indeed with 10 goals and four assists.

If Paqueta does leave this summer, Lopetegui will undoubtedly need at least one left-sided creative attacking player to come in.

Zaha fits that bill.

‘God’s timing’ for Hammers move?

A frontline four of Zaha on the left, Mohammed Kudus in his preferred central attacking midfield position, Jarrod Bowen on the right and a new striker up top is a mouthwatering prospect for West Ham.

Zaha has been a consistent goalscorer in the Premier League with 68 goals and 29 assists in 305 appearances.

Whether he will be able to pick up where he left off should he join West Ham is the big question.

The likes of Kalvin Phillips have proved just how difficult it is get back to Premier League levels when you step away for an extended period of time.

England’s top flight is regarded the best and most competitive in the world.

The Turkish league is a footballing backwater by comparison.
