Kelce brothers on Wrexham

Kaitlin Olson and Blake Lively – the partners of McElhenney and Reynolds respectively – have been at Wrexham games in the past.

Hugh Jackman, Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd are just some of the other famous names to have turned up to watch Wrexham.

There could be two more soon though as brothers Jason and Travis Kelce look set to make the visit.

The pair have been NFL superstars over the years with Jason turning out for McElhenney’s beloved Philadelphia Eagles before recently retiring.

Travis has become a huge name, not only for his play as a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, but also for his relationship with Taylor Swift.

The Kelce brothers also have a hugely successful podcast – New Heights – and they have spoken about Wrexham on this week’s episode.

Travis noted that McElhenney really put them on the spot by publicly announcing that they want to attend a Wrexham game – but it is true.

Jason seemingly needs no convincing at all and can’t wait to go and see Wrexham in action.

Travis added that he is in awe of both McElhenney and Reynolds, believing that they are some of the best guys around and they have done incredible work at Wrexham.

Jason feels that the really ‘beautiful’ thing about the Wrexham story is that real joy and hope is being brought to Wrexham despite not being a hotbed economically.

“We said we wanted to go, he really threw us on the spot. I’m not going to lie, I really do want to go to a game,” said Travis.

“We’ve been meaning to get out there for a game, get overseas, jump the pond and go watch some football. I’m in, sounds like a blast,” said Jason.

“I’m so in and both of these dudes are the best aren’t they? McElhenney and Ryan dude, they just don’t make them any better and I’m happy as hell for them because they’ve taken Wrexham and got them promoted. The guys on the field are the ones doing the work, so you want to make sure you shout them out and pump them up, but they are huge on making everyone well aware of that what is going on over there in Wrexham and it’s fun to follow them on the other side of the world. We’ll definitely try and make a game, we’ve got to get out there,” added Travis.

“The beautiful thing of that show is that they’re taking a historical club in an area that isn’t the biggest economic booming spot and they’re showing that investing in those communities, investing in these areas that deserve it, they’re growing something much bigger than people probably thought possible. You can see the invigorating energy that it’s given the community, I’m all about that and we gotta go check that out for sure,” added Jason.

McElhenney’s connection to the Eagles means Jason will always be welcome and Lively’s friendship with Swift may just see the pop superstar at Wrexham alongside Travis Kelce one day.

That may seem outrageous, but most of the last few hears have been for Wrexham, so it just can’t be ruled out.
