Zelenskyy receives reports on situation at front lines from Umerov and Syrskyi

Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi briefed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the situation at the front, according to the evening address of the head of the state.

According to Zelenskyy, Umerov and Syrskyi provided him with a report on the situation at the front, particularly regarding the defense of Ukrainian positions and the physical protection of people and communities. A separate topic was the prevention of any attempts at Russian offensive actions.

"I thank every one of our soldiers whose courage and resilience make all of this possible. To all in the Armed Forces of Ukraine - in our combat brigades, in all involved units, in air defense forces, in the Air Force, in the security forces. Everyone who is now on the front lines, who defends Ukraine on land, in the sky, and at sea - everyone contributes to providing our state with the opportunity to secure perspectives for our independence, for our diplomacy, for our lives," said the President.

Situation on the front

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that in the last 24 hours, there were 121 military clashes on the front lines. Specifically, the enemy launched 59 missile strikes and 55 airstrikes.

As of the morning of May 8, the losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion amounted to 477,430 military personnel.
