On the night of May 9, an explosion occurred in the Krasnodar Krai (Russian Federation), allegedly due to a drone attack on a local oil depot, according to the Russian media.

It is noted that the oil depot, which was attacked by a UAV, is located in the village of Yurivka in the Kuban, according to the Telegram channels Mash and Cheka-OGPU.

It is also worth noting that footage of the alleged attack on the base with the use of a drone or drones was published online. In the video, you can hear the characteristic sound of a motor, preceded by a drone, followed by a powerful explosion, and a bright flash in the night sky.

Later, the propagandists said that six Ukrainian drones allegedly tried to attack the oil depot, but were shot down by the electronic warfare system. However, some UAVs fell directly on the tanks in the village of Yurivka, and a fire broke out at the base, according to the Anapa Emergency Department.

The headquarters added that 62 firefighters and 20 pieces of equipment are working at the scene. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

Other attacks on refineries and oil depots in the Kuban

It is not the first time that various explosions and fires have occurred at oil refineries and oil depots in the Krasnodar region of Russia. The regional authorities often attribute the incidents to drone attacks.

For example, on the night of April 27, attack drones attacked the Krasnodar Krai, causing a hit and a fire at the Slavyansk ECO oil refinery near the city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban.

According to the governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratiev, air defense forces and equipment were deployed in the region because of the drone attack. We would like to add that local public and Russian media reported that drones also attacked the Ilsky oil refinery and a number of other facilities.

By the way, RBC-Ukraine's sources reported that on the night of April 27, the SSU attacked the Kushchevsk military airfield and two oil refineries in Russia's Krasnodar Krai with drones: Ilsky and Slavyansk refineries.

We would also like to remind you that in February, an oil refinery in the Krasnodar Krai also caught fire. Back then, local residents said they heard explosions before the fire.
