Mikel Arteta will miss final game of season if one thing happens during Man Utd v Arsenal

Arsenal have just two games remaining in the Premier League this season, as they aim to take the title race to the final day.

Mikel Arteta’s side will need to be perfect in both games in order to stand any chance of beating Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to the title, and despite Man United’s poor form, the upcoming trip still promises to be a tough one given Arsenal’s terrible record there.

If Arsenal do beat Man United, then they will take the title race to the final game against Everton, but they will still need Man City to drop points.

Arteta will hope to be beside his team against Everton on what could be a historic day, which could see them win a first title since 2004. However, he is in danger of being banned from the touchline.

Mikel Arteta in danger of Arsenal touchline ban

Arteta has a league-high five yellow cards to his name this season, and one more caution will see him banned from the touchline for the final game of the campaign, against his former club Everton.

The Spaniard was missing from the touchline once in this campaign, as Arsenal lost to Aston Villa as he served a ban for allegedly over-celebrating in his side’s victory over Luton Town.

He will now have to be careful against Man United, as his team will not want to face Everton on the final day, with the title potentially on the line, without their manager.

Arteta’s five yellow cards have come following constant discourse about him being too emotional on the touchline.

A previous argument with Jurgen Klopp at Anfield saw his side crumble under pressure and lose 4-0, whilst he has also been criticised for angrily slamming the standard of refereeing in the Premier League.

Arsenal fans are already concerned about referee Paul Tierney, and Arteta needs to remain disciplined at Old Trafford.

Arsene Wenger was once sent off and banished to the stands in a game at Man United, and Arteta will hope for a better result all around, both for his team’s performance, as well as his own discipline.
