‘Concretely interested’: Chelsea have just held a meeting with representatives of £65m midfielder – journalist

Journalist Lorenzo Lepore has claimed that Chelsea have recently been in discussions about the signing of one player this summer.

Chelsea will no doubt enjoy another busy summer transfer window as far as signings go, however it will come at the expense of some of their first team stars.

The likes of Conor Gallagher are still reportedly up for sale, with the England international apparently powerless to the ownership’s demands to sell him.

The other way though, the club have been linked already with a number of additions that will set them back a fair amount.

One of those is Georgiy Sudakov, who the Blues are keeping an eye on over at Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 21-year-old is a former teammate of Mykhailo Mudryk, and the winger has reportedly made a plea for Chelsea to secure a deal for him.

His hopes may be on the way to coming true, with Lepore saying they are one of the two clubs who have recently held a meeting with representatives of the player.

He said: “Chelsea and Tottenham held meeting with his camp. They’re concretely interested Arsenal and Liverpool enquired about his situation too but nothing concrete at this stage. The figures of a possible deal are around 65-75 million of euros.”

The position the midfielder features in on a regular basis means he could be being looked at as a potential Gallagher replacement.

Mauricio Pochettino still under pressure

The 24-year-old has been arguably in the top three performers for the club this season, and it seems as if it would be going against everything Mauricio Pochettino wants at the club.

The Argentine has recently led the Blues back to the European places in the Premier League, which some would think will lift the pressure off his shoulders a bit.

However, it has been reported that the owners are demanding at least Europa League football for next season, and therefore his job is not done yet this season with three games to go.
