The Muddy Awards 2024 were split into regions and five West Berkshire businesses were victorious in the Berkshire regional awards.

Natalie Jenner, franchise owner of Newbury’s Sweaty Mama and a pre and post natal fitness specialist, was named best fitness instructor.

She said: “To actually win is just incredible. I may own a franchise but the business is just me.

“I’m a one women band, running everything and winning this against other amazing instructors is just, well I’m struggling to actually put into words what it means.

“I say I did it but really we did it. I can’t thank you enough, from the bottom of my heart to everyone who voted, shared and helped me achieve this.

“You really rallied round me and I couldn’t have done it without you.”

The Retreat at Elcot Park

The Retreat at Elcot Park won the best hotel award.

The country house hotel and spa is located just off the A4 between Newbury and Hungerford.

An Elcot spokesperson said: “We are honoured to have been named Best Hotel in Berkshire at the 2024 Muddy Stilettos Awards.

“A massive congratulations to all of the teams involved and a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us.”

The latest culinary venture by former Newbury restaurant Henry & Joe’s chef Henry Kremer-Ireson is the Damson Restaurant in the former Winterbourne Arms pub.

“The biggest thank you, from our whole team, to everyone that voted for us to become the Muddy Stilettos Awards best restaurant in Berkshire.

“Having been open for less than a year, this just means so much to us, and we hope it will help us spread the word even further about our beautiful restaurant, and give even more people a reason to come and experience it for themselves.”

Wellness Pilates, which is a reformer Pilates studio in Woolton Hill, was named the best yoga/Pilates studio in Berkshire.

Wellness Pilates founder Leah Willoughby said: “I honestly don’t have the words to show my gratitude to you all, not only for voting but for filling my days with fun, showing up come rain or shine and making my dream job a reality.

“I am blessed to have not only the very best clients I could imagine but also a fantastic team of instructors by my side bringing the Wellness Pilates spirit to all of their sessions.

“Our little Pilates community is the best of the best and I am overwhelmed with gratitude to each and every one of you.”

Hillfields Farm in Upper Basildon, a wedding venue and equestrian facility, was crowned best event venue in the county.

A Hillfields spokesperson said: “There are some incredible venues in our county so this really is quite a feat for our small, family run venue.

“We were so touched by the response to us asking for votes and how many people made the effort to vote.

“Thank you to every single one of you who took the time. It really has meant an awful lot to us.”
