Arne Slot could have an easy solution for Darwin Nunez problem at Liverpool next season - opinion

Arne Slot may have an easy solution in how to get the best out of Darwin Nunez at Liverpool next season.

It has been a frustrating first two years for Darwin Nunez at Liverpool. But his chapter in a red shirt should not be over this summer.

Nunez still has a future at Liverpool, no matter how disappointingly his season has ended.

There is still a lot of potential in the Uruguayan forward. At his best, Nunez is a nightmare to face for defenders. He knows how to torture them, and he does everything full throttle.

Sometimes he just needs to work on his composure in front of goal, it’s the only area of his game that lets him down.

How Arne Slot can get the best out of Darwin Nunez

One of Arne Slot’s biggest challenges at Liverpool next season will be to get the best out of Darwin Nunez.

Fortunately, Slot has a good track record with forwards, and he has the background in getting the best out of them.

Being an exemplary finisher himself in his playing days, he will work with Nunez on the training ground to sharpen his finishing.

But perhaps the easiest solution for Slot could be to move Nunez on the wing. The Uruguayan has been really explosive on the left-wing and he’s actually quite effective in the position.

Perhaps a big factor as to why is because Nunez doesn’t quite have the pressure to score goals as much on the left-wing.

Nunez’s record on the left-wing for Liverpool

Earlier this season, Nunez’s numbers on the left-wing were really encouraging. He played there a few times during the month of December and caught the eye.

As tweeted below, Nunez has actually been more productive in front of goal while playing on the left-wing in the Premier League than when he has been deployed as a striker.

All of this simply just backs up why Arne Slot should consider a position change for Nunez, and give the Uruguayan another chance next season.
