'You’re trying to trick me': Stormy Daniels snaps at Trump lawyer in testy courtroom fight

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 18: Former U.S. President Donald Trump arrives for his criminal trial as jury selection continues at Manhattan Criminal Court on April 18, 2024 in New York City.

MANHATTAN CRIMINAL COURT — Stormy Daniels earned kudos from legal experts who applauded the deft way she responded to brusque questioning from former President Donald Trump's attorney Susan Necheles Thursday.

“You’re trying to trick me into saying something that’s not entirely true," Daniels snapped at Necheles during a line of questioning about contract agreements.

Daniels again accused the attorney of putting words in her mouth by misconstruing her words on social media.

“Show me where I said 'I’ll be instrumental in putting President Trump in jail,'" Daniels demanded.

Laughter rolled through an overflow room in Manhattan criminal court as Necheles obeyed and the tweet appeared on a publicly visible screen.

Daniels, responding to a comment referring to her as a "human toilet," was seen to have replied that made her "the best person to flush the orange t--- down."

A deadpan Daniels told Necheles, "I’m also not a toilet."

Daniels testifies as part of Trump’s ongoing trial on charges that he falsified business records to disguise money he paid to buy her silence ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

The adult film star says she had a sexual encounter with Trump in 2006, but the former president denies the affair and has pleaded not guilty to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s charges against him.

Legal experts watching Daniels testimony said she seemed well prepared to take on Necheles in court.

"Hats off to the lawyer who prepped Stormy," said attorney Bradly Moss.

"Necheles is a fine lawyer," vocal Trump critic George Conway said. "She's obviously a skilled cross-examiner, and she's clearly trying to undermine Stormy's credibility in her cross. But I don't see yet how her line of cross here is helping her client."

"Stormy easily besting Necheles was not in the Trump playbook," said Columbia Professor Tom Watson.

"So far today, Daniels seems to be taking a page out of Davidson's book, playing 'lawyer games' with Necheles," reported LawFare's TylerMcBrien. "Exploiting technicalities, being ultra precise, not giving an inch."
