‘A little whisper’: Journalist has just heard 'special' player is leaning towards joining Newcastle over Spurs

Tosin Adarabioyo has been the talk of the transfer window over the past week or so.

Fabrizio Romano noted earlier this month that the Fulham defender has decided he’s going to leave on a free transfer, and many of the big boys in the Premier League and beyond are circling.

Liverpool and Tottenham have been linked, but according to Craig Hope, speaking on his YouTube channel, Newcastle United may be leading this race now.

Tosin Adarabioyo leaning towards Newcastle

Hope shared what he knows about the ‘special’ defender and his preference this summer.

“Newcastle are exploring that market. Talks have spoken place with both players. I wrote this in my notebook column on Friday. Tosin Adarabioyo knows where Newcastle see him fitting in potentially in their plans next season. I think they would see him as a starting centre-back and I’ve just got a little whisper that he might be leaning towards a move to St James’ Park,” Hope said.

Tosin Adarabioyo would be better off joining Newcastle

Tosin has been most strongly linked with moves to Newcastle and Spurs, and if it came down to choosing between those two sides, a move to St James’ Park would make the most sense.

With all due respect, Tosin probably wouldn’t start at Tottenham if he were to head to north London.

Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are very much established as starters, and Tosin would have to do something special to break that partnership up.

Meanwhile, as Hope says, Newcastle would have Tosin earmarked as more of a starting option, and with Fabian Schar not getting any younger, he could slot in straight away.

Tosin is leaning towards a move to Newcastle this summer, and it has to be said that a move to Tyneside is logical for the centre-back.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on heading into the summer.
