Manchester United have issued an injury update that hints if Bruno Fernandes will be fit enough to play against Arsenal on Sunday.

The Portuguese international and Old Trafford captain missed his first game ever from injury on Monday as United were humiliated 4-0 against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, with Erik Ten Hag’s side currently plighted with fitness problems.

As many as 11 players, including Fernandes, currently have injuries or issues that are keeping them out of action for United, whilst Arsenal only have one doubt in the form of Takehiro Tomiyasu, who was missing from training this week.

Fernandes not spotted in Manchester United training ahead of Arsenal clash

As per United’s official website, Fernandes was not spotted in training today, hinting that the attacking midfielder could still be a doubt for this weekend’s clash against Arsenal, a tie that could make or break the north London side’s season.

Arsenal need to win their last two games of the campaign if they’re to stand a realistic chance of pipping Manchester City to the Premier League title, with Pep Guardiola’s side taking on Fulham in the early Saturday kick-off.

Indeed, with United already injury-hit, Fernandes missing another game could be massive for the Red Devils, who will need three points on Sunday if they’re to stand any shot of qualifying for Europe.

As for Arsenal Fernandes’ potential absence is a huge boost for their own chances of winning the title, with the former Sporting Lisbon star arguably United’s most important and best player.

Arsenal need to send a message on Sunday at Old Trafford

Arsenal’s season will be determined if they can win or not at Old Trafford on Sunday, with the Gunners set for the last big test against a side who have a fantastic historical record against the Gunners.

With United at arguably their lowest point this year, Arsenal have to take advantage of the Red Devils and their situation, with Mikel Arteta fully aware how big this weekend’s tie is in Manchester.

And with Fernandes potentially missing, Arsenal have to take advantage of the circumstances, with three points and another big result huge for the title race this season.
