A report from SPORT has now claimed that the Uruguay star could make a surprise exit from Liverpool this summer, just two years after he arrived.
The 24-year-old has been brilliant at times, but his inconsistency in front of goal has proved frustrating, and with Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool, it is unclear what their next coach has planned for him.
The report also claims that the striker would be keen on a move to Barcelona, if Lewandowski leaves, but given that the veteran has one year left on his contract, this seems unlikely to happen this summer.
Nunez, who has previously played for Almeria, is seemingly keen on a return to Spain having struggled in England, and wants to join the Blaugrana.

Although he can be threatening in attack on his best day, Nunez’s inconsistent form in front of goal makes him an unreliable option for Xavi.
The striker also moved to Liverpool from Benfica for a huge fee, and Barcelona are unlikely to be able to afford what Liverpool will want to part ways with him.
Barcelona will eventually need a striker to replace Lewandowski, but as it stands, an expensive and unreliable option in Nunez should be avoided.
