Craig Hope shares whether or not he thinks Bruno Guimaraes will be at Newcastle next season

So much has already been said about Newcastle United ahead of the summer transfer window.

While Eddie Howe’s side still have a battle on their hands to ensure they are playing Europa League football next season, there is little doubting the huge focus on the summer.

Indeed, there are said to be plans for a big rebuild at the club after a difficult campaign in which Howe’s squad has been seriously stretched.

Quite whether or not FFP limitations will allow Howe to completely revamp his playing options ahead of next season remains to be seen.

Newcastle may even need to sell to buy given the balancing act staying on the right side of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability (PSR) rules require.

As a result, the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak have been linked with moves away.

Though the club are reportedly not looking to sell star striker Isak at any price, the situation is somewhat different in regards to Guimaraes.

Last month, there were even claims that there was an acceptance behind the scenes at St James’ Park that the Brazilian would go amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

The fact the midfielder has a release clause in his contract obviously weakens the club’s hand but the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope has shared the latest on what he believes will happen this summer.

Craig Hope shares whether or not he thinks Bruno Guimaraes will stay at Newcastle next summer

Speaking on a video posted on YouTube, Hope said: “I don’t believe there is PSG interest in Bruno Guimaraes. I think a lot of noise around him generally with regards to clubs is put out there by interested parties, shall we say.

“I think Bruno Guimaraes will stay at Newcastle by virtue of the fact that I don’t think there’ll be a buyer at £100m. I just don’t.”

Later on in the video, Hope added: “Question – will Bruno Guimaraes be a Newcastle player on the first day of next season? Answer – yes, I think he will be.”

“Will Alexander Isak be there? Yes, absolutely.”

Bruno Guimaraes has already confirmed he wants to stay at Newcastle

Guimaraes would appear to have too much class to force a move away from the club this summer.

Obviously, he wouldn’t be the first player in the history of football to go back on their word and a mega offer from a club like PSG may change things but the 26-year-old has constantly talked about how much he wants to stay.

Hopefully, both he and Hope are on the money…
